Weisshorn
Building Blocks for Cryogenic Low-Noise Electronics
Application
The integration of electronics at cryogenic temperatures in the range of 70 K down to 800 mK is expected to significantly improve system noise performance in applications such as qubit control and read-out for quantum computers, as well as in highly sensitive optical sensors for fast single-photon detection based on silicon avalanche photodiode (SPD) technology.
Short Description
The 3.0 x 1.0 mm Weisshorn chip is processed using a 22 nm FD-SOI process. It contains novel components, including a low-noise current source, to investigate and validate cryogenic control for tuning and manipulating superconducting and spin-based qubits, as well as single-photon detectors.
