Design your own chip at our Tiny Tapeout workshop in June
Are you interested in learning more about chips and excited about designing your own? We are too! Join us for our Tiny Tapeout workshop, design your own chip, and be part of the first run (planned for September 2025) to have the workshop designs manufactured on a chip. Our workshop is for students, enthusiasts and anyone excited about making their own chip.
Overview:
The goal of the workshop is to make integrated circuit (IC) design more accessible to the Swiss public and engage high school students with chip design and study paths in electrical engineering. We will make a collective design (with open-source tools) that will be manufactured on one chip, and together with IHP, we’ll have a first tape-out in IHP130 planned for September 2025, which will include our workshop designs!
In our workshop, we will first learn the basics with a look at how transistors work and how to design a simple digital circuit, and then we'll dive into creating the chip layout and adding your design to the chip.
