Get your designs made on a real chip
We're excited to announce that SwissChips is sponsoring the submission of designs to the next Tiny Tapeout IHP shuttle for participants in Switzerland. Your design will get manufactured and you'll receive a ready-to-use chip, all for free!
This is a great opportunity for those interested in chip design to get access to the chip manufacturing pipeline. Submit your design to the next shuttle in the SwissChips sponsored space, and your design will go through to production — you'll receive a fully-packaged and ready-to-use chip at the end of the process, all at no cost and fully sponsored by SwissChips.
Together with Tiny Tapeout and IHP, SwissChips is helping to make integrated circuit (IC) design more accessible, so everyone can get involved, and we especially want to encourage young people to get excited about chip design.
Whether you're just getting started in digital design, or have more experience — we want to encourage everyone to get hands-on experience with building an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) from design to production. We're supporting anyone living in Switzerland to submit their designs, and we're covering the cost (about 175 CHF of ASIC).
Submission deadline for designs to the next shuttle: Sept 1, 2025, 21:00 CEST
Getting started:
You can find all the info and materials to get started on a design, through to submission, on the external page Tiny Tapeout website.
Tiny Tapeout’s browser-based software and automated build system is designed to offer as low a barrier to entry as possible, while their educational materials begin at a level assuming no prior experience with chip design.
Watch the external page introductory video and take a look at the external page Tiny Tapeout workshop materials and external page workshop slides to get started, and you can follow the external page digital design tutorial for a full overview.
Submit your design:
Once you’re confident with the tools, create your design and then follow external page the submission process.
You'll need a coupon from us for the submission and you can get this by filling out our submission form.
Each coupon is for one tile on the chip. If your project gets more complex, let us know and you can request more space. All the tiles from SwissChips participants, including those from our recent Tiny Tapeout workshop in June, will be submitted to the next IHP shuttle. We mount the chips onto the demoboard before sending to you.
If you're a teacher and want to submit several designs for your class, please get in touch with us directly: .
Submission Deadline: Sept 1, 2025, 21:00 CEST.
